DUBAI/UAE: Acclaimed author, Dedra L. Stevenson, officially launched her first cookbook, Breaking Bread Around the World, in the Al Kuttab Café, Uptown Mirdiff, Wednesday, Oct, 24th, 2018.

The launch was well attended, and the book was well received. Attendees enjoyed two dishes from the book, Richard Dockett’s Cheese and Pickle Rolls and Mexican Wedding Cookies.

Ms. Stevenson delivered a short powerpoint presentation and a lively discussion of how international cooking can be a unifying force for all people ensued.

When asked about the event, Ms. Stevenson said, “This book has been 4 years in the making, and I couldn’t have done it without the support of my family, my friends, my social media following, and the help of a few very special people. My interns, who cataloged, organized, and influenced design, and my talented and brilliant cousin, Rodney W. Harper, who laid out and designed the book for me, designed the cover, and basically ensured the quality of the product, from start to finish. I’m so happy that the event was a success, and it meant so much to see the book’s greatest supporters come together to officially welcome it to the world.”

As the evening came to a close, Ms. Stevenson autographed the books that were purchased at the event. Many guests commented on what a great gift the book will make. “The holidays are upon us, and an author-signed international cookbook will make an excellent Christmas gift!”
